Virgin Hair is human hair that is in its natural state. No chemical changes, no color, has not been processed, and all cuticles are intact.
Our wigs are made of 100% virgin human hair.
The choice between a lace frontal wig or closure wig depends on your personal preference and the look you want to achieve. Both will give you a full and flawless install with the illusion that hair is growing from directly from your scalp. Both allow you to braid and protect your natural hair. This means none of your hair will be left out. Production of the frontal is more complicated and requires more material than the closure. In summary, if you are all for a great hairline and versatility, frontals are your thing. If you just want a natural look and would not care for a simple parting, get closure. The biggest differences between lace frontals and lace closures is cost size, and versatility.
Yes. All our wigs are glueless and come with an elastic band, combs, and adjustable straps. Glueless lace wigs have become more popular in the wig industry due to their convenience. Unlike wigs that require adhesive products for application, glueless lace wigs offer a hassle-free alternative as it relies on an elastic band for a snug fit.
Our closure and frontal wigs come customized (bleached and plucked), styled and ready to wear. Glueless wig, as the name suggests, is a type of wig that can be worn without the need for adhesive products such as glue or tape. Unlike traditional wigs, which typically require glue or tape to secure them to the scalp, glueless wigs are designed with built-in features that provide a secure and comfortable fit without the use of adhesives.
Glueless wigs often feature adjustable straps and combs or clips inside the cap, which allow the wig to be securely attached to the wearer’s natural hair or scalp. These adjustable components ensure a snug fit and prevent the wig from shifting or slipping during wear.
Additionally, some glueless wigs may have an elastic band or drawstring at the nape of the neck, providing extra stability and customization options.
If you prefer for the lace not to come cut for the frontal wig please reach out to contact@rachelshairloft.com before placing your order.
Lace Adhesive (GLUE) Wig installation (Great option for More experienced wig wearers)
- 1–2 week hold
- Longer lasting option the involves attaching the wig to the front of the head using special glue or tape formulated to attach the lace piece to the skin.
- Installation can take 2-4 hours to complete and will look the most natural. The ultimate “melt” look!
- Gently saturate the lace with alcohol until the glue completely loosens and gently slides off the skin.
Glueless Wig Installation (Great option for those who want a quick and easy install)
- Does not require any glue or tape
- Wig is secured to the head using adjustable straps, elastic band, and combs.
- Can take as little as 30 minutes to complete.
- Applying an extra hold hair spray or gel in thin layer across the lace piece will give you extra security for 1–2-day wear.
- Can be easily removed with water.
Yes, that’s very common in wigs, especially curly and wavy textures. There may be loose hairs from the tracks and those loose hairs will be removed from the wig during the co-wash. As long as there aren’t clumps of hair being released from the wig, your hair is fine.
There are 3 main measures that must be taken to find the right cap size for your wig:
- Circumference
- Front to Nape
- Ear to Ear
To determine your wig size you will need to take a few measurements using a flexi measuring tape. The most important measurement is the circumference. Our wigs come with adjustable straps, built-in combs, and an elastic band to help secure the unit. Even if your measurements don’t fall exactly into these categories, you can easily adjust to achieve hair perfection.
- Before starting the measurements, we would advise that you ensure your natural hair is flat as possible to give you a more precise measurement. Secure your natural hair with bobby pins or a wig cap.
- Measure your circumference, front to nape, and ear to ear measurements.
- Choose medium if two of the measurements belong to the small and one size belongs to the medium.
- If you are between sizes, please go with the large size.
Note: Choosing the wrong size can lead to a poor fit and can compromise the overall look. Rachel’s Hair Loft is not responsible for incorrect measurements.
Wigs are available in different lengths. You can order lengths from 6 inches to 30 inches.
Wig length is the measure of hair strands from the crown to where the hair will land. The measurement conveys where the hair will fall once it is installed.
Straight hair—At 20 inches hair length the unit will end at 20 inches from the crown of your head. For straight hair, this is easy to understand.
Curly/Wavy hair—The hair needs to be stretched straight to get the exact measurement. This is because the curly texture makes the hair look shorter than the actual length. We suggest ordering curly hair at least 2 inches longer than your desired length.
There can also be slight variations in this measurement depending on the hair texture you have, how the unit has been installed and your physical features.
Wig density is defined as how thick or thin the hair on your lace wig will be. The hair density that you select is really based on personal preference and what you feel looks and compliments you best.
The majority of our wigs come in either 180% or 200% density.
180% (Full) Intended for clients who desire a full and voluminous hair look. This density is heavy and for clients who like a full style. (Recommended for hair length 20” and longer)
200% (Extra Full/Glam) This density is very heavy. It is usually ordered by ladies who want their hair to look extra glamourous more of a celebrity look. Recommend for hair lengths 24” and longer)

Care and Maintenance
Co-washing simply means washing with conditioner. It is a key task in extending the life of your extensions and keeping them healthy. We recommend a co-wash once a week with moisturizing conditioner to ensure your hair gets the nutrients and moisture it needs. Cleaning your extensions before wearing them can remove any debris left in during the manufacturing process. Shampooing the hair can strip the hair entirely too much of its moisture. Always use WARM water, as hot water will overexpose the cuticle of the hair.
All virgin hair reacts differently to product and regimens. Please be mindful to stay away from ingredients that can strip your extensions of moisture such as parabens, sulfate, and silicone. These products usually tend to have a high alcohol content which dehydrates the hair follicle of its nutrients. Heavy oils are also not necessary to care for your extensions as it can weigh down your hair pattern. By rule of thumb, we recommend co-washing your extensions weekly and shampooing bi-weekly to rid your extensions of any excess product. Deep conditioning can be done as needed.

Yes. Our hair can be colored with up to 20V. We recommend testing a strand of hair prior to coloring the full set.
Yes. We recommend using high temperatures with caution and highly recommend applying a heat protectant before styling. When using hot tools, we suggest temperatures under 350F degrees for colored hair, and under 400F degrees for natural colored hair to avoid dryness. Do not leave hot tools on the hair no more than 30 seconds.
Wearing a wig cap is a personal choice and depends on your needs and preferences. Here are some pros and cons of wearing a wig cap:
Pros
- Comfort: Wig caps can be cozy and comfortable. They can be comforting for people with sensitive scalps or complete hair loss.
- Hygiene: You can clean and change your wig cap every day, while you might only wash your wig once a week.
- Protection: Wig caps can act as a barrier between your scalp and your wig, preventing slippage, reducing scalp irritation, and creating a smoother base.
- Holds your natural hair out of the way.
Cons
- Discomfort: Some people find that wig caps feel too tight or warm.
If you’re taking of your unit for a short period of time (to sleep, shower, etc.) You can place it on a mannequin head or a wig standard. If you’re looking to store your wig for a longer period of time then place your hair in a satin bag and place it in a cool, dry area.
It’s not recommended because it could cause tangling if not taken care of properly. If you hair is sewn in, wear a satin bonnet. This will prevent the tangling.
